Need to stay in the UAE for another 60 days but your tourist visa is about to expire? The A2A (Apply-To-Apply) inside-country extension lets you add 60 days to your stay without leaving the UAE — no border run, no flight out, no airport hassle. Standard processing is 2–3 working days, starting from AED 1,500. We file the application with ICA or GDRFA and you keep doing what you were doing.
This page covers everything: who qualifies, exactly what it costs, the documents you need, the application steps, and the common mistakes that cause rejections. If you prefer to talk to a person now, WhatsApp our visa desk — we usually reply in under 15 minutes.
What is the UAE A2A 60-day visa extension?
A2A stands for Apply-To-Apply. It is the UAE government’s official route for tourist-visa holders to extend their stay from inside the country, instead of doing a "border run" to Oman or Saudi Arabia and re-entering on a fresh visa.
The 60-day version adds 60 days to your current stay, starting from your current visa’s expiry date. So if your visa expires on the 30th of this month and we file A2A in time, your new stay runs from the 1st of next month through to the 30th of the month after.
Who is eligible for A2A 60-day extension?
Three conditions must be met:
- You are currently inside the UAE on a valid tourist visa.
- Your current visa has not already been extended. Each UAE tourist visa gets exactly one extension. If you already used your 30-day extension once, A2A is not available — you must exit.
- Your current visa has not expired yet. A2A is filed before expiry, not after. If it has expired, the only option is to exit and pay the overstay fine.
Transit visa holders are not eligible. People on residence or work visas use different routes (residence renewal, change of status) — not A2A.

5 common mistakes that cause A2A rejections
- Filing too late. A2A needs 2–3 days to process. Apply with at least a week of buffer.
- Filing after expiry. Once your visa has expired, A2A is no longer an option, period.
- Already used the visa extension once. Each tourist visa gets one extension. If you used it, A2A is not available.
- Wrong portal. ICA handles non-Dubai entries, GDRFA handles Dubai entries. Filing through the wrong portal gets rejected.
- Expired passport buffer. Passport must have 6 months validity from your new extension expiry, not just today.
Our free document check catches all five of these before you pay.
